Those in the mood for a
“meatfest” head to this Port
Chester Brazilian BBQ where
“incredible quantities” of
“tender” skewered cuts are
ferried by a “friendly” staff in
handsome wood-lined quarters; add in a “plentiful” salad bar,
and even though it’s not
inexpensive, the all-inclusive
prices are considered a
“bargain” for what you get. |

Churrascaria Copacabana: Brazilian steakhouse
By Yelp on
9/14/2009
I felt like having insane amount of bbq meat, and
searched yelp. I was thinking around Manhattan, but
found this place with all the good reviews, right
down the road, without my ever knowing it existed.
In short: a meat lover's nirvana!
For less than $35, I get to eat top sirloin, beef
ribs, prime ribs, among other 11 different kinds of
meat. Yes, it's pretty standard at most Brazilian
BBQ all-you-can-eat places. Places like these easily
cost around 2x in the City.
What's remarkable is the level of service, the
quality of the meat and cooking. The beef was almost
never overdone, a crime so commonplace at these
places. The chicken, ribs, sirloin, sausages,
turkey, skirts and flanks are all perfectly cooked,
where even the slightest error will result in
inedible rubber. Instead we get flamed meats in
perfect layering of done-ness, flavored by its own
grease and seasoned with only salt, presented in all
its uncorrupted glory to the diners. That's what a
churrascaria should be all about! I have had much
worse at much more expensive (more than 2x the cost)
establishments in Manhattan. It's no small feat.

Churrascaria Copacabana: Brazilian steakhouse

. . Meat selection was great with over ten choices.
Skirt steak, leg of lamb and the prime rib were
awesome. I was full before I tried the ribs but my
husband loved them. Salad bar was high end and
unique with grilled portabella mushrooms, roasted
potato salad and huge chunks of Reggiano Parmigiano
cheese. Service was excellent. You must have the
fresh Flan for dessert." |

"Fabulous Brazilian
meats on skewers! The new decor is beautiful and the
staff is very attentive. The sangria is great. I
can't say enough, but bring your appetite." |
Churrascaria Copacabana: An upscale Brazilian steakhouse
By Jananne Abel,
Westmore News in Port Chester
"Churrascaria Copacabana, billed as a
Brazilian steakhouse, specializes in South American style
rotisserie cooking and Rodizio service. Servers come to your
table with knives and skewers on which are speared various
kinds of meat. In fact, you get a random parade of 12
different meats on skewers which are pulled or sliced off
the skewer onto your plate. With your meal, comes a lovely, fresh salad bar plus side dishes
served at your table. So it’s a literal feast.
If you’ve been to Pantanal, you will
notice a striking change of décor at Copacabana. And even if
you haven’t, you’ll be taken by the lovely surroundings.
Copacabana is decidedly more upscale and remarkable.
We first enjoyed the salad bar which
boasted a fresh selection of greens, hearts of palm,
green been salad, chicken salad, Brazilian potato salad,
pasta salad, Portobello mushrooms, tomato and mozzarella and
shrimp cocktail. Although I was full, I took home the meat
left on my plate and decided to have a look at the dessert
cart. The coconut flan was dense but creamy. I managed
to eat most of it.
On another visit our party of four sat in
the bar where there are four high square tables with white
cloths located across from the bar itself. Here or on the
large deck on the Abendroth Avenue side of the restaurant
you can order appetizers or the salad bar.
Copacabana offers cocktails, Brazilian
beers and a good selection of wines by the glass and bottle.
These alcoholic beverages can be consumed at the bar, in the
dining room or in the comfortable, romantic candlelit lounge
entered through a doorway off the bar." |
